Urgent Humanity Consulting Ed Chang

Ed Chang - Founder

Ed Chang is the founder of Urgent Humanity: a consulting firm whose mission is to support organizations’ ability to “do good” while simultaneously working on their ability to “be well”.  In addition, he currently serves as the founding Executive Director for redefinED atlanta, a non-profit dedicated to ensuring that every student in every community in Atlanta has access to a great public K-12 education.  For over 20 years, Ed has worked as a champion for high-quality public schools and intentional organizational culture.  He has raised over $50 million dollars dedicated towards systems change for education in Atlanta, and has helped organizations across the city be more effective in reaching their outcomes.  In addition, Ed has provided executive coaching and strategic planning support for companies across the country for over a decade.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology and a master’s degree in physical therapy from Washington University in St. Louis.  Chang also holds a master’s degree in secondary science from Mercer University and a Certificate for Advanced Study in Educational Leadership from National Louis University.


Urgent Humanity Consulting Christy Harris

Christy Harris, Ed.D - Senior Partner

Dr. Christy Harris is a Senior Partner at Urgent Humanity and has been working to promote the health and wellbeing of individuals, teams, and organizations for over a decade.  She currently serves as the Dean of Regional Programs for Relay Graduate School of Education, a national nonprofit institution of higher education. She leads program directors in 10 states across the country ensuring that each program provides high quality teacher and leader preparation. She began her career teaching English at Georgia State University. It was during this time that she realized the need to touch the lives of students much earlier. As a result, she served as a middle school English teacher and eventually a middle school principal where she led her school to a National Blue Ribbon Award. Christy later served as Chief Academic Officer of a charter school network and a leadership consultant before returning to higher education as the founding Dean of Relay Graduate School in Atlanta, Georgia. Christy received a BA in English at the University of Georgia, a MA in English at Georgia State University, a MA in Applied Positive Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania, and an Ed.D. in Leadership and Learning in Organizations at Vanderbilt University.
